Airport Closed: India’s busiest airport closed for next 4 months
Airport Closed: Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, will be closed for flights from 10 am to 6 pm daily from Saturday, March 1 to July 15 due to runway repair and modernization. India’s busiest airport closed for next 4 months.
IndiGo flights from the city to Goa’s Mopa airport were partially suspended on the day it was to be launched. During these five-and-a-half months, many passengers may face difficulties, especially those who have booked their tickets in advance.

Lucknow Airport on its website has advised passengers to contact the respective airlines to know the status of their flights. “Due to runway recarpeting at CCSI airport between March 1 and July 15, 2025, flights will operate before 10 am,” reads a notice on the website.
It is estimated that 35 or more flights a day may be cancelled. According to media reports this will jeopardize the travel plans of around 1.8 lakh passengers. In January this year, Lucknow airport was operating an average of over 21 international and around 109 domestic flights daily.
Meanwhile, the number of international passengers was over 1.09 lakh and the number of domestic passengers was over 4.77 lakh. In fact, preparations are now underway to build a taxiway parallel to the runway after the terminal at the airport.

This new modern runway will make the landing and take-off process of planes much easier. In fact, the airport management had sent a proposal to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. Now, after getting the permission to start the work, it has been decided to close the airport and start the work. However, currently 132 flights operate at the airport.
Currently, there are around 155 domestic and international flights here every day. Direct flights are available from Lucknow airport to many major cities. Flights are available to Delhi, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Chennai and many other cities.
