Heavy rainfall and severe storm alert in these states: IMD Alert
Heavy Rainfall: There is a possibility of change in the weather of North India in the coming days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast snowfall and rain in many states on February 24 night due to a western disturbance.
Meanwhile, a thunderstorm and lightning warning has been issued for Northeast India on February 23. During the last 24 hours, the day temperature has dropped by 1-4 degrees Celsius in many parts of the plains of northwest India.

Many parts of the Ganga plains of West Bengal have seen temperature rise of 3-5 degrees Celsius. Bihar, Jharkhand and many parts of Uttar Pradesh recorded day temperatures of 1-3 degrees Celsius above normal. Talking about Uttarakhand, after seven years the weather here will change again at the end of February.
There are chances of snowfall in the state from February 25 at an altitude of 3200 meters. On February 27th and 28th, snowfall is likely at 2800 meters altitude. The IMD has forecast rain in most parts of the state during the last two days of February.
According to the Dehradun Meteorological Centre, the cold will return again in Uttarakhand due to strong western disturbances. Seven years ago in 2019, such weather was witnessed in the last days of February. Later Dehradun recorded a minimum temperature of 5.5 degrees Celsius.

This time also February 27 and 28 are going to be cold days again. Because most parts of the state with an altitude of 2800 meters are likely to experience snowfall for two days. Earlier, on February 25, rain may occur at few places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Rudraprayag districts and snowfall may occur in higher elevations.

On February 26, rain will occur at most places except Pauri, Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar. Snowfall will continue in higher elevations. After this, the cold will intensify with rain and snowfall over the entire state on February 27 and 28.

On Saturday, Dehradun recorded a maximum of 23.8 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 11.6 degrees Celsius, a maximum of 25.8 and a minimum of 7.4 degrees in Pantnagar, 15.4 and a minimum of 4.4 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar.
