Udupi: A significant ruling has come from the Udupi Senior Citizens’ Court regarding Bigg Boss contestant and wild card entrant Chaitra Kundapur. The court has directed her to ensure that her father, Balakrishna Nayak, is not subjected to any physical or mental harassment and is allowed to live with dignity in his own home.
The matter came to light when Balakrishna Nayak approached the court, alleging that his daughter and wife were denying him basic care and harassing him mentally and physically. “My daughter and wife are not providing proper meals and are inflicting mental and physical distress on me.
When I questioned certain household matters, they forced me out of my own home. I feel like a stranger in my own house,” he claimed. Currently, he has taken temporary shelter at his elder daughter’s residence as he could not bear the harassment.
The court, after reviewing Balakrishna Nayak’s petition, granted protection under the Karnataka Parents and Senior Citizens’ Care and Welfare Act. The order specifically instructed Chaitra Kundapur and her mother to refrain from any form of harassment and to ensure that Balakrishna Nayak can live peacefully and with respect. The Kundapur police have been directed to monitor compliance and report any violations.
The conflict reportedly escalated over marital and property disputes. Chaitra had previously shared on social media that she grew up as a single parent’s child, implying her father had been irresponsible. On the other hand, Balakrishna Nayak asserted, “I raised my daughter with proper education and care; now, they are causing me distress over property matters.”
The ruling comes while Chaitra is participating as a wild card contestant in Bigg Boss Season 11. Observers note that the court’s order adds an extra dimension to her ongoing public persona on the reality show. Previously, Chaitra had faced controversy outside the show, including allegations of duping political aspirant Govind Babu Poojari over an MLA ticket.
The Senior Citizens’ Court order ensures that her father’s rights and dignity are legally protected, requiring Chaitra to comply regardless of her commitments on the show. With the verdict in place, all eyes are now on whether she will adjust her behavior at home while continuing her participation in Bigg Boss, and how this legal intervention may influence public perception.
