Student Assaults Assistant Professor After Being Caught Cheating in Kalaburagi College

Kalaburagi : A shocking incident of violence was reported from Dr. Malakareddy Homeopathic College where a student allegedly assaulted an assistant professor after being questioned for copying during an internal examination.

The accused student has been identified as Shahbaz, while the injured faculty member is Assistant Professor Shivarajkumar. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed on the college premises.

According to sources, an internal examination for the subject Materia Medica was being conducted on Thursday. During the examination, Shahbaz was allegedly found using a mobile phone to copy answers. Assistant Professor Shivarajkumar, who was serving as the exam invigilator, noticed the misconduct and immediately questioned the student. He then confiscated the answer sheet and reportedly instructed the student to leave the examination hall.

Enraged by the action, the student allegedly attacked the professor inside the campus. The sudden act of violence created panic among students and staff members present at the college. The situation was later brought under control by other faculty members.

The CCTV footage, which clearly shows the student assaulting the professor, has become crucial evidence in the case. College authorities have informed the student’s parents about the incident and have initiated disciplinary proceedings.

The management has reportedly decided not to allow the student to appear for further examinations. Strict action is expected to be taken following internal inquiry procedures. It remains unclear whether a formal police complaint has been filed.

The incident has sparked concerns over increasing cases of indiscipline and aggression within educational institutions. Faculty members have expressed the need for stricter monitoring during examinations and stronger action against malpractice to maintain academic integrity.
