ISRO Headquarters Receives Third Bomb Threat in Four Days

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), located on New BEL Road in Bengaluru, received another bomb threat email at around 9:00 PM on Sunday, marking the third such threat in the past four days.

Bengaluru: The headquarters of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), located on New BEL Road in Bengaluru, received another bomb threat email at around 9:00 PM on Sunday, marking the third such threat in the past four days.

ISRO staff noticed the email, written in English, at around 10:30 AM on Monday. The anonymous sender claimed that a bomb would explode at 2:00 PM, prompting officials to immediately alert the police.

Following the threat, personnel from the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), CISF, the dog squad, and Sanjaynagar Police rushed to the campus. A thorough search was conducted across the entire ISRO headquarters, including Antariksha Bhavan.

Police also inspected the ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) facility located in the Peenya Industrial Area. After an extensive search that continued until the afternoon, no suspicious objects or explosives were found. Authorities later declared the email to be a hoax.

Earlier, on July 3, police arrested Nishant Tyagi (36) from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, for allegedly sending a bomb threat email to the office of ISRO Chairman Dr. V. Narayanan on July 2.

However, investigators have confirmed that Tyagi has no connection with the second threat email, which was sent in Tamil on Friday, or the third email received on Sunday. According to North Division DCP B.S. Nemagouda, all three emails originated from different email IDs. Sanjaynagar Police have registered three separate cases and are continuing their investigation.
