With the southwest monsoon gaining momentum and several districts facing the threat of heavy rainfall, flooding, and related emergencies, the Chief Minister has directed ministers to closely monitor their assigned districts. The objective is to ensure timely preventive measures, effective coordination with district administrations, and swift execution of relief and rehabilitation operations whenever required.

Political sources have clarified that the list released now is not the final official district in-charge minister allocation. Instead, it is a temporary arrangement made specifically for overseeing monsoon-related emergencies and natural disaster management across the state.

The arrangement is intended to facilitate quick decision-making, seamless coordination with local authorities, and immediate relief efforts during natural calamities. The government is expected to announce the full-fledged and official district in-charge minister list in the coming days.

Given the intense rainfall being experienced in coastal and Malnad regions, ministers such as U.T. Khader and K.J. George have been assigned responsibility for particularly sensitive districts.
