Indian origin student dies of cardiac arrest during Diwali celebrations in Dubai
Indian origin student dies: An 18-year-old Indian expat student, Vaishnav Krishnakumar, died of a sudden cardiac arrest in Dubai. He reportedly collapsed on Tuesday night, just a day after Diwali, during celebrations in Dubai International Academic City. He was rushed to a hospital but was declared “dead on arrival due to cardiac arrest.”
Vaishnav was a first-year BBA Marketing student at Middlesex University Dubai and a recipient of the UAE Golden Visa for students with academic distinction. He was a highly accomplished student, a former Head of School Councils, and known for his focus on fitness and well-being.
According to his family, he had no known underlying heart conditions. He is survived by his parents and younger sister. The family, originally from Kerala, is completing procedures to repatriate his body for the funeral.
The Dubai Police Forensic Department is conducting further tests to ascertain the exact cause of death. The news has caused deep sorrow within the Indian expatriate, university, and school communities in Dubai.
