School Holiday: The Dasara festival is approaching in Karnataka. Students and parents are waiting for the Dasara vacation. This time, students in Karnataka will get the Dasara vacation earlier than usual.

In the state of Karnataka, the Education Department usually announces not only summer vacation but also interim vacation. Since this vacation is given during Dasara, it is called Dasara vacation.

Previously, the summer vacation was given for 2 months, while the Dasara vacation was given for 30 days. However, after Corona, the Education Department has cut the Dasara vacation. It was reduced from 20 days to 15 days. But this time, the Dasara vacation will be given for only 9 days.

The Karnataka School Education and Literacy Department has already announced the academic schedule for the year 2025-26. According to this schedule, schools will function from May 29, 2025 to April 10, 2026, for a total of 242 days.

The first term will be from May 29 to September 19 and the second academic term will be from October 8 to April 10, 2026. There will be a total of 123 days of vacation in this academic year.

This academic year, students will get Dasara vacation earlier than usual. Usually, Dasara vacation is given from October 2. But this time, Navratri will arrive earlier.

Therefore, the Education Department has announced Dasara vacation from September 20. All primary and high school students in the state of Karnataka will get Dasara vacation from September 20 to October 7.

But Christian educational institutions have declared a holiday from September 27. The Dasara holiday has been shortened to allow for additional holidays during Christmas. Compared to the last few years, this time students will get Dasara holidays earlier than usual.
