Karnataka Dasara Holiday Extend: It has been decided in today’s meeting to fully utilize the teachers for the survey. Therefore, CM Siddaramaiah has decided to extend the Dasara vacation given to schools till October 18.
Speaking at a press conference today, he said that the caste census survey in Koppal district is 90 percent. In Dakshina Kannada and Udupi, it is 68, 69 percent. What we expected has not been achieved in the entire state.

We will know how much the caste census survey will be this evening. According to the information I have received, the complete survey has not been completed in all districts.
As today is the last day for the Social, Economic and Educational Survey, CM Siddaramaiah held an important meeting with the officials of the Backward Classes Commission and it was decided in the meeting to complete the survey by utilizing the teachers to the full extent. Hence, it has been decided to give a holiday to all schools in the state till October 18.
Speaking at a press conference after the meeting, CM Siddaramaiah said that the holiday for all schools (government and aided schools) will be extended till October 18. The teachers’ association had requested that the holiday be extended.
Based on the request, the schools will be given holiday till October 18. 1.20 lakh teachers have participated in the survey. They have asked for the holiday to be extended so that the work can be completed. Therefore, it has been decided to give holiday to schools from tomorrow till October 18.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman and members of the State Backward Classes Commission and officials of the Education Department. In the wake of the incomplete caste census survey, it was decided to continue the holiday for schools in the state. Accordingly, it has been decided to give holiday to all schools in the state till October 18.
