Karnataka Bandh: Schools, Colleges holiday on July 25!
Karnataka Bandh: A statewide Karnataka Bandh has been announced for Friday, July 25, 2025. This bandh is being called by various traders’ associations and the Workers’ Council to protest against Goods and Services Tax (GST) notices issued by the Karnataka Commercial Tax Department. Karnataka Bandh: Schools, Colleges holiday on July 25!.
While there is a bandh announced, there is no official, blanket declaration of a school holiday for the entire state specifically due to the July 25th bandh at this time.

Even without an official holiday, normal life, including public transport, may be affected, especially in urban centers like Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Hubballi. This could lead to thin attendance in schools.
In the past, local administrations have sometimes declared school holidays based on the severity of protests or disruptions in their specific areas, especially if there are concerns about transport or safety.
Generally, essential services like hospitals and medical stores remain open during bandhs. Public transport (BMTC, KSRTC, metro services) might also function unless unions explicitly join the strike.

Parents and students are advised to stay in touch with their respective school authorities and monitor local news for any last-minute announcements or changes regarding school operations on July 25th.
The primary focus of this bandh is the closure of shops, bakeries, condiment stalls, tea-coffee outlets, small retail stores, milk distribution services, and family-run businesses.
