Woman Blackmailed and Sexually Abused Over Private Photos

Bengaluru: A shocking case of blackmail and sexual abuse has come to light in Bengaluru, where a widowed woman was exploited and threatened with the circulation of her private photos.

The accused, identified as Chandrashekhar, allegedly befriended the woman under the pretext of helping her, only to sexually exploit her and use her images to threaten her. A complaint has been registered at Byadarahalli Police Station.

Exploited under the guise of assistance:

The victim lost her husband in 2021 and has been raising her 4-year-old daughter while managing a local garment business. In February 2025, Chandrashekhar approached her claiming he would help her.

Despite repeated refusals, he persisted in contacting her daily and gained her trust. Over time, he pressured her into multiple sexual acts against her will, despite knowing she was a single mother.

Threats with obscene photos and coercion:

The situation escalated when another woman, claiming to be Chandrashekhar’s wife, called and confronted the victim. Following this, Chandrashekhar again forced sexual contact, which resulted in the woman becoming pregnant.

He then allegedly gave her a potion, which caused severe abdominal pain and bleeding the next day. Along with two other accomplices, Kavita and Sakamma, Chandrashekhar reportedly threatened the victim with murder if she went to the police.

The accused also threatened to upload her private photos on social media, publicly humiliate her by posting the images on the garment shop walls, and subjected her to verbal caste-based abuse.

Mentally distressed and fearing further harm, the victim filed a police complaint against Chandrashekhar, Kavita, and Sakamma at Byadarahalli Police Station. Authorities have initiated an investigation under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including sexual harassment, criminal intimidation, and blackmail.
