Vijayanagar triple murder case solved: Three bodies found buried inside house

Vijayanagara ;The sensational triple murder case reported from Kotturu town in Vijayanagar district was finally cracked on Saturday afternoon, sending shockwaves across the region. Police have discovered that the accused had brutally killed his father, mother, and sister and buried their bodies inside his own house.
According to police investigation, the accused, identified as Akshay Kumar, dug a four-foot-deep pit inside his house and disposed of the bodies one over the other. During the spot inspection, it was found that he first placed the body of his mother Jayalakshmi in the pit, followed by that of his sister Amrutha, and finally his father Bhimraj. The pit was later sealed with tiles in an attempt to destroy evidence and mislead investigators.
The shocking crime came to light after Akshay filed a missing persons complaint at Tilak Nagar police station in Bengaluru. He had claimed that his parents and sister had gone to Jayadeva Hospital and never returned. However, his contradictory statements raised suspicion among the police.
On Saturday, the Bengaluru police brought Akshay to Kotturu and conducted a spot mahazar in the presence of a Sub-Divisional Magistrate. During the inspection, the buried bodies were recovered from inside the house. The bodies were immediately shifted to a government hospital for post-mortem examination.
As news of the gruesome incident spread, a large crowd gathered near the house and hospital premises. Police had to struggle to control the situation and maintain law and order.
Speaking to the media, Vijayanagar Superintendent of Police Jahnavi said that the accused had lodged a false complaint on January 29 stating that his family members were missing. βDuring questioning, Akshay gave inconsistent and misleading statements. This created suspicion, and a detailed interrogation led to the revelation of the murders,β she explained.
Tilak Nagar police registered a murder case on Friday after gathering crucial evidence. They arrived in Kotturu and carried out further investigation, which ultimately exposed the horrific crime. Though the bodies have been recovered, the exact motive behind the murders is yet to be ascertained.
Police officials said that the weapons used for the crime and the precise reason for the killings would be known only after further investigation and the post-mortem report. An FIR has been registered against two persons in connection with the case, and inquiry is still underway.
The triple murder has created panic and disbelief among local residents, who are struggling to come to terms with the brutality of the incident. Police have assured that a thorough investigation will be conducted and all aspects of the case will be examined.
