Teacher dies by suicide after bidding farewell to students in Madikeri

Madikeri: In a tragic incident reported from Cherambane village in Madikeri taluk, a government school teacher died by suicide after reportedly bidding an emotional farewell to her students.

The deceased has been identified as Rohini (51), a teacher at a government primary school in the village. According to preliminary information, she was said to be distressed and had expressed emotional fatigue in recent days. On the day of the incident, she is believed to have taken the extreme step at her residence by using a firearm.

Locals said Rohini was a dedicated teacher who shared a close bond with her students. Her sudden death has left the village in shock, with students and parents mourning the loss of a respected educator. Reports indicate that she had interacted normally with students before the incident, making the development even more distressing for the community.

Police have registered a case at the Madikeri Rural Police Station and initiated an investigation into the circumstances leading to her death. Officials stated that further inquiry is underway to determine the exact reasons behind the incident.
