Ganesh murder case: Bajrang Dal activist arrest

A Bajrang Dal activist was found involved in the murder case of Congress activist Ganesh in Sakharayapatna, and the police had taken Mithun into custody and interrogated him. After Mithun’s role in the case was confirmed, he was arrested and produced at the residence of the Chikkamagaluru city judge.

The judge has ordered the remand of accused Mithun in judicial custody. It is known that Mithun, who is A6 in the Ganesh murder case, is a friend of A1 Sanjay and is an active worker in RSS and Bajrang Dal.

The police have already arrested A1 Sanjay and A3 Nagabhushan in connection with the case, and the search is on for A2 Nitin, A4 Darshan and Ajay.

These three accused have absconded after the murder of Ganesh. On the night of December 5, Congress worker Ganesh (40) was murdered in a brawl over the removal of a Datta Jayanti banner in Sakharayapattana in Kadur taluk of Chikkamagaluru district.

The miscreants who attacked him with a machete brutally killed Ganesh, a member of Sakharayapattana Gram Panchayat. The incident took place on the road to Kalmaradi Math near Sakharayapattana. While Ganesh was travelling in a car on a narrow road, a group of assailants on a bike intercepted him and attacked him with a machete.

The assailants then left, leaving the machete there. After the incident, four teams were formed under the leadership of Chikkamagaluru SP Vikram to search for the accused. In the wake of the Ganesh Gowda murder case, Chikkamagaluru police have taken precautionary measures to prevent any untoward incidents.

Extensive police security has been deployed across Sakharayapattana. Necessary steps have been taken to maintain law and order and instill confidence among the public. Additional police personnel have been deployed on major roads and densely populated areas.
