Car fire in Arabail ghat turns into murder case, most wanted criminal killed by associates

Karwar : What was initially believed to be a tragic accident in the Arabail Ghat has now taken a shocking turn, with police confirming that the incident was in fact a premeditated murder. The case pertains to a car that caught fire on National Highway 52 on April 8, which authorities had earlier treated as an accident.

However, detailed investigation has revealed that the victim, identified as Nitish Dapale from Belagavi, was murdered before the car was set ablaze. Police sources said Nitish was a most wanted criminal, allegedly involved in more than 50 criminal cases.

According to investigators, Nitish was killed by his own associates in Hubballi. In a bid to destroy evidence, the accused reportedly placed his body inside a car, drove it to the secluded Arabail Ghat stretch, and set the vehicle on fire. The incident was carefully staged to resemble an accident.

The case has so far led to the arrest of three accused — Nayeem Moula, Dada Peer and Soheb — all residents of Hubballi. Police have identified three more suspects, Shanu, Jameer and Ayub, who are currently absconding.

Authorities have launched an intensive search operation to trace the remaining accused. The case has been registered at Yellapur Police Station, and further investigation is underway. Officials believe more details about the motive behind the murder may emerge in the coming days.
