Mangaluru: Body of businessman’s son found on Shambhavi riverbank near Mulki

Mangaluru: In a shocking incident, the body of a businessman’s son was found on the banks of the Shambhavi River near Bappanadu in Mulki taluk of Dakshina Kannada district on Thursday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Abhishek Alva (29), son of prominent entrepreneur Naveen Chandra Alva. Preliminary reports suggest that Abhishek may have died by suicide after jumping into the Shambhavi River near Mulki. A case has been registered at the Mulki Police Station, and further investigation is underway.

According to police sources, Abhishek went missing on the night of November 5, after parking his car near the Bappanadu bridge. His disappearance was initially reported at the Padubidri Police Station. This morning, his body was discovered along the riverbank close to Bappanadu.

Abhishek was reportedly managing his father’s business operations. The Alva family, hailing from the Thiruvailu Guthu lineage, is a well-known and respected family in the coastal region, particularly recognized for their association with the traditional Karavali Kambala events.

While police suspect suicide, the exact cause of death remains unclear. Investigators are examining all possible angles, including personal and business-related stress. Authorities are awaiting postmortem results to determine the precise cause of death.
