Rinku Singh father Khachandra Singh passed away
India batter Rinku Singh father Khachandra Singh passed away on February 27 after a long battle with stage 4 liver cancer. He breathed his last at Yatharth Hospital in Greater Noida, where he was undergoing treatment as his condition had deteriorated in recent days.
Khanchandra Singh breathed his last at approximately 5:00 AM at Yatharth Hospital in Greater Noida. He had been on ventilator support and undergoing intensive treatment, including renal therapy, for several days.
Rinku had already been navigating a difficult week. He briefly left the team camp in Chennai on Tuesday to be by his father’s side, then showed immense professional strength by rejoining the squad on Thursday for the match against Zimbabwe.
Upon receiving the news of the demise this morning, Rinku immediately flew back from Chennai to his hometown in Aligarh to perform the final rites. Rinku did not feature in the playing XI for yesterday’s win against Zimbabwe in T20 world cup 2026 match.
His availability for India’s upcoming crucial Super 8 clash against the West Indies in Kolkata (scheduled for Sunday) remains uncertain as the team management has prioritized supporting him through this personal tragedy.
It is still unclear whether the 28-year-old will play a major role in India’s remaining T20 World Cup 2026 matches, with no official word yet from the BCCI or the team’s management regarding his participation.
