Actor among 11 arrested for kidnapping, assaulting Kannada film director in Bengaluru

Bengaluru : Bengaluru police have arrested an actress and ten others for allegedly kidnapping, assaulting, and robbing a Kannada film director in a shocking case that has sent ripples through the city’s film fraternity. The incident came to light after the victim filed a complaint at the Adugodi Police Station on February 11.
According to police, the victim has been identified as director T.A. Aneesh, who has directed the yet-to-be-released Kannada film “Jeevanada Bhashe.” The accused include actress Aishwarya, who had acted in the Kannada film “Bheema” and is also known as a social media influencer.
Police said Aneesh had decided to sell his car and had shared this information with Aishwarya, who was known to him and resides near Indiranagar. Investigators believe that the accused used this information to plan the kidnapping.
“A case of kidnapping, assault, and robbery has been registered based on the victim’s complaint. We have arrested 11 accused, including one woman,” a senior police officer said.
As per the complaint, the accused allegedly contacted Aneesh under the pretext of helping him sell his vehicle and convinced him to travel from Mumbai to Bengaluru on February 9. Once he arrived, the accused allegedly abducted him and took him to a house in Byadarahalli.
Police said the accused assaulted the director using hockey sticks and other objects, causing physical injuries. They also allegedly robbed him of gold ornaments and ₹30,000 in cash.After the assault, the accused reportedly took him in a car to Mandaragiri Hills near Panditanahalli in Tumakuru district, where two more persons joined and further assaulted him.
Following the complaint, Adugodi police launched an investigation and successfully traced and arrested all 11 accused involved in the crime.Police have seized six mobile phones, gold ornaments, cash, and a car used in the commission of the offence.
Officials said further investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the crime and whether additional individuals were involved.
