But unfortunately, Ben Austin failed to recognize the fast-moving ball. As a result, the ball hit him hard on the neck. Austin collapsed and was immediately taken to the hospital by ambulance. Ben Austin, who had been battling for his life in hospital for the past two days, died on October 30, the Ferntree Cricket Club said.

November 25, 2014 was a dark day for cricket. On this day, a ball bowled by Shaun Abbott hit the back of the head of Australia’s Phil Hughes during a domestic tournament match in Australia. Phillip Hughes, who immediately collapsed, slipped into a coma. He died in hospital two days later.
