Shocking Incident on Summanahalli Flyover, SUV Drags Bullet Bike for 500 Meters

Bengaluru: In a shocking incident in Bengaluru, a man driving an SUV dragged a Bullet motorcycle for nearly 500 meters on the Summanahalli flyover on the night of December 24. The event has left the public stunned, especially after a video of the incident went viral on social media.

The incident unfolded when the SUV, driven by a man identified as Srinivas KV from Tumakuru’s Kunigal, collided with a Bullet motorcycle. The collision caused the motorcycle to get stuck under the SUV, and the vehicle continued to drag the bike along the road.

Despite attempts by another car nearby to alert the driver of the SUV, the vehicle continued for around 500 meters, causing sparks and flames to emerge from beneath the SUV as it scraped along the road.

The situation created panic among commuters, as the vehicle was seen dangerously pulling the bike down the flyover. Eyewitnesses were in shock, and the incident was captured in a video, which quickly spread across social media platforms. The video shows the SUV stubbornly dragging the motorcycle, with sparks and flames visible under the car.

It was only when the SUV reached Nayandahalli Junction that other frustrated drivers managed to stop the vehicle and hand over the driver, Srinivas, to the police. Upon investigation, police discovered that Srinivas had been driving under the influence of alcohol when the incident occurred.

Srinivas confessed to the police that he had been unaware of the situation as he was panicked after the collision. He did not realize that the motorcycle was stuck under his car until it was too late.

The motorcycle rider, identified as Rohith S, spoke about the incident, saying, “My bike was hit from behind, and I was thrown to the ground. The SUV dragged my Bullet for a long distance along the road.” Thankfully, Rohith was not injured, though his motorcycle suffered significant damage.

The police have filed a case against Srinivas, who has been charged with reckless driving and endangering public safety. The incident has raised questions about road safety and the consequences of drunk driving, with many public comments calling for stricter regulations and penalties to prevent such reckless behavior.

Public anger also escalated as Srinivas was reportedly assaulted by onlookers for his dangerous actions. The police have assured that a thorough investigation will be conducted, and strict action will be taken against him.
