Devanahalli Landowners Offered ₹2.70 Crore Per Acre in Major Acquisition Proposal

A high-value compensation package has been proposed for landowners whose properties are being acquired for an industrial project near Bengaluru. Farmers will also have the option of choosing developed industrial plots instead of cash.

Landowners in Devanahalli could receive one of the highest compensation packages ever proposed in the region as authorities move forward with an industrial development project. A land valuation committee has recommended compensation of ₹2.70 crore per acre for approximately 120 acres identified for acquisition.

In addition to the monetary package, affected farmers have been offered an alternative settlement option. Instead of accepting cash, they may opt for a developed industrial plot measuring 10,781 square feet for every acre of agricultural land acquired, giving them an opportunity to participate in future industrial growth.

The proposal was discussed during a joint meeting between KIADB officials and landowners. Authorities stated that the objective is to ensure fair compensation while balancing the state’s industrial development goals with the interests of farmers.

The recommendation will now be placed before the KIADB Board for final approval. Once cleared, compensation payments and land allotment procedures will begin based on the option selected by each eligible landowner.

The acquisition covers nearly 120 acres in Gokarebacchenahalli and Hyadala villages of Channarayapatna Hobli in Devanahalli taluk. Officials said the landowners have agreed to the acquisition process, and the final notification has already been issued.

If approved, the package is expected to become one of the most significant compensation settlements in Devanahalli, reflecting the rapid industrial growth taking place around Bengaluru’s northern corridor.
