Case filed against Bengaluru man for sending obscene messages to SBI employee

Bengaluru: A case has been registered against a man in Bengaluru for allegedly sending obscene and inappropriate messages to a woman employee working at a branch of State Bank of India.
According to the police complaint, the 40-year-old woman works as a senior associate at the State Bank of India Kacharakanahalli Branch. The incident reportedly began on March 10 when the accused, identified as K.R. Ravi Shetty, visited the bank seeking information about internet banking services.
During the interaction, the accused reportedly spoke about his business activities and shared his mobile number with the bank employee. He allegedly requested the staff member to give him a missed call so that he could save her number for further communication related to banking services.
However, later that evening around 8 pm, the accused allegedly sent obscene and inappropriate messages to the complainant through his phone. Shocked by the messages, the bank employee reportedly warned him of legal action and asked him to stop sending such content.
Despite the warning, the accused allegedly continued to send unwanted and offensive messages, causing distress to the woman employee. The complainant then informed the bank’s chief manager about the incident the following day.
According to reports, the chief manager contacted the accused over the phone and questioned him about his behaviour. During the conversation, the accused allegedly apologised for his actions and assured that he would visit the bank and personally apologise.
However, the matter escalated later in the evening when the accused reportedly sent another inappropriate message to the chief manager at around 5.20 pm. In the message, he allegedly suggested arranging a meeting between himself and the complainant.
Following this development, the woman employee approached the police and lodged a formal complaint against the accused. Based on the complaint, police registered an FIR under Section 75(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Police have initiated an investigation into the incident and are verifying the messages sent by the accused. Authorities stated that further action will be taken after examining the evidence and recording statements related to the case.
