Minor killed by fiancé over suspicion, stabbed and mutilated

Bengaluru : A shocking case of brutal murder of a minor girl has come to light from DJ Halli area in Bengaluru, with police investigations revealing disturbing details. The accused, identified as Syed Shabeel, allegedly killed the girl over suspicion, despite being engaged to her.

According to police sources, the minor girl, a native of Kolar, frequently visited her relatives in Bengaluru. During one such stay, she developed a relationship with Shabeel, who worked at the onion market in DJ Halli. Their relationship eventually came to the notice of the family, who later agreed to their marriage. The couple got engaged in June 2025, and preparations for their wedding were underway.

However, recent developments indicate that Shabeel had begun suspecting the girl’s character, leading to tension between the two. Police said this suspicion ultimately turned fatal.

On the day of the incident, Shabeel allegedly called the girl to meet him at an abandoned building near Sakkare Mandi in DJ Halli, a place where they had met several times earlier. The girl reportedly left her mobile phone at home and went to meet him early in the morning around 6 am.

When she failed to return even by 10:30 am, her relatives grew anxious and began searching for her. Attempts to contact Shabeel also failed as his phone was switched off. Upon inquiring with his family, they were directed to the abandoned spot where the couple used to meet.

On reaching the location, the family discovered the girl’s body lying in a pool of blood. Police said the victim had been attacked in a gruesome manner—her chest was slashed, she was stabbed in her private parts, and her throat was slit.

Investigators believe that the accused lured the girl under the pretext of a meeting and committed the crime in a fit of rage driven by suspicion. After the हत्या, Shabeel fled the scene and is currently absconding.

Police have launched a manhunt to trace and arrest the accused. A case has been registered at DJ Halli Police Station, and further investigation is underway.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the locality, raising concerns over rising cases of violence against women and the dangers of possessive behaviour. What began as a relationship heading towards marriage has ended in a horrifying crime, leaving the victim’s family devastated.
