Operation Sindoor destroyed Lashkar headquarters in Muridke, admits LeT commander

New Delhi ;Jammu and Kashmir-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) has indirectly confirmed the scale of damage caused by India’s retaliatory military action, Operation Sindoor, following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack. Senior LeT commander Hafiz Abdur Rauf has acknowledged that the organisation’s main headquarters in Muridke was completely destroyed during the Indian operation.
Speaking at a recent gathering, Rauf described Operation Sindoor as a “major strike” that left Pakistan’s establishment stunned. While attempting to frame the incident in religious terms, he admitted that the Indian attack targeted Muridke on May 6 and 7, 2025, causing extensive destruction. A video of his speech has since gone viral on social media, drawing widespread attention.
In the video, Rauf is heard saying that the attack was aimed at a mosque complex in Muridke and termed it a “massive assault.” He claimed that prior warnings were issued and civilians, including children, were advised to move away, indicating that the strike hit a significant operational facility. His remarks are being seen as a tacit admission that India successfully struck a high-value terror target.
Rauf also alleged that while Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had stated that terror hideouts were targeted, the attack was effectively against Pakistan. He further claimed that the “rules of war have changed,” reflecting growing anxiety within terror networks and their handlers across the border.
Operation Sindoor was launched in response to the April 22, 2025, terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 tourists were killed. Following the incident, India carried out precision strikes on nine terror camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), focusing on infrastructure linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba and other extremist groups.
Indian officials had earlier maintained that the operation was carefully planned to neutralise terror infrastructure without targeting civilians. The latest admission by a senior LeT commander has strengthened India’s claim that Operation Sindoor dealt a severe blow to Pakistan-based terror networks, exposing their vulnerability and operational losses.
