Ex-girlfriend of Chandrashekhar Azad questions Azad Samaj Party’s fund usage, demands transparency

Lucknow: Former JNU scholar and Azad Samaj Party national president Chandrashekhar Azad is facing serious allegations from his ex-girlfriend, Dr. Rohini Ghavri, related to financial transparency and misuse of party funds.

Dr. Ghavri shared the bank statements of the Azad Samaj Party on social media, questioning the use of donations collected by the party and demanding accountability for the funds received. According to the statement, approximately Rs 2.5 crore was credited to the party’s account in a single month, raising concerns over the handling and disbursement of the money.

Dr. Ghavri alleged that while several small donations were contributed by members of underprivileged and marginalized communities, the party has not clearly indicated how these funds were utilized for social work, education, and healthcare projects.

She urged Chandrashekhar Azad to publicly disclose the purpose and beneficiaries of these funds. Additionally, she questioned the party’s allocation of a Type 8 government bungalow to Azad, asserting that such privileges are inappropriate for someone positioned as a public leader, especially when the resources are meant to serve the community.

The bank statement shared by Dr. Ghavri indicates multiple transactions in April, including withdrawals and deposits through RTGS, UPI, and IMPS, reflecting both small and large contributions.

She demanded that Azad clarify how the funds were used, who benefitted, and whether the bungalow provided to him has been utilized appropriately. She also suggested that the party must account for the transparency of all resources, particularly those meant to support community welfare.

Dr. Ghavri’s allegations extend beyond financial concerns to personal disputes, claiming that Chandrashekhar Azad misled her under false promises during their personal relationship, causing emotional distress. She has repeatedly challenged him to provide clarity on the party’s operations and resources, demanding accountability from a leader who holds significant influence in Uttar Pradesh politics.

This public disclosure and criticism have intensified scrutiny over Azad Samaj Party’s internal management and use of funds, sparking debates on political ethics, transparency, and the responsibilities of party leaders towards their supporters and donors.

As these allegations continue to circulate, political observers are closely monitoring the party’s response and the possible impact on its credibility among voters and the general public.
