Dasara Holidays 2025: Schools 13 days, Colleges 8 days holiday

Dasara Holidays 2025: The Telangana government has officially announced the Dasara holidays for schools and junior colleges for 2025. Schools in Telangana will be closed for a 13-day festive break from September 21 to October 3, 2025.

Classes are scheduled to resume on Saturday, October 4. Junior colleges will have a slightly shorter break of 8 days, from September 28 to October 5, 2025. They will reopen for classes on Monday, October 6.

Before the holidays begin, schools are required to complete their Formative Assessment-2 (FA-2) exams. After the break, students will prepare for Summative Assessment-1 (SA-1), which is tentatively scheduled from October 24 to October 31.

Junior college students will have their half-yearly examinations from November 10 to November 15. The shortened holiday for junior colleges is reportedly due to the heavier academic workload at the intermediate level.

The Dasara holidays for schools in Karnataka will be from Saturday, September 20, 2025, to Monday, October 6, 2025. Regular classes are scheduled to resume on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. This gives students a total of 17 days off, including weekends.

While this is the general schedule for most government and private schools (including CBSE and CISCE), some CBSE schools, particularly in the Dakshina Kannada district, may have a slightly different schedule and could reopen earlier, possibly around October 3. It’s always best for parents and students to confirm the exact dates with their specific school’s administration.
