Red Alerts Issued:

Rajasthan: Extremely heavy rainfall (exceeding 21 cm) is very likely at isolated places today, July 18th.

Kerala & Mahe: Extremely heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places on July 19th and 20th.

South Interior Karnataka: Extremely heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places today, July 18th.

Other States with Heavy Rainfall Alerts:

Uttar Pradesh: West Uttar Pradesh is expected to see heavy to very heavy rainfall today, July 18th, and again on July 20th and 21st. A depression currently centered near Prayagraj is moving west-northwestwards, bringing heavy to very heavy rainfall across Southwest Uttar Pradesh and Northwest Madhya Pradesh over the next 48 hours.

Madhya Pradesh: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in West Madhya Pradesh today, July 18th. The trijunction of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan will witness the fury of the depression, with potentially extremely heavy rainfall in some areas.

Coastal Karnataka: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places.

Tamil Nadu & Puducherry & Karaikal: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places.

Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, East Madhya Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, North Interior Karnataka, Telangana, and Uttarakhand: Heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places.

Delhi Forecast:

The national capital can expect light to moderate rain today, accompanied by generally cloudy skies, thunderstorms, and lightning. Temperatures are likely to be 1 to 2 notches below normal.

No heavy rain alert is in place for Delhi-NCR today or for the coming 4-5 days, but wet spells are expected to continue until July 23rd.

Monsoon Status:

The southwest monsoon is active across much of India. A depression near Prayagraj is influencing weather conditions over central and northern India, while persistent wet conditions are predicted for Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.
