IMD issued heavy rainfall: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), in its latest forecast, said that there is a possibility of thunderstorms in the coming days and that the mercury level is also expected to increase. IMD issued heavy rainfall alert in these states for next 3 days.
Several states are likely to experience hailstorms, thunderstorms and heat waves or clear and humid weather. Uttarakhand and some northeastern states, especially West Bengal below the Himalayas, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya will experience light to moderate rain, thundershowers, lightning and windy condition.

The IMD expects heavy rainfall in these states, especially between April 13 and 15.Hail is expected in Uttarakhand, East Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh on April 12, while dust storms are expected in East Rajasthan.
In South India, the IMD had warned of thunderstorms and lightning five days in advance in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Telangana and Karnataka. In the wake of severe weather warnings, the IMD has advised the public to stay indoors and avoid taking shelter under trees during severe thunderstorms.
The next few days will be cold in northwest, central and western India, with the maximum temperature forecast to drop by 2 degrees. However, temperatures are expected to increase by 3–5°C over the next four days. For example, the weather in Delhi is pleasant now, but heat can be seen from April 14.

Heat waves are expected in isolated areas of western Rajasthan on April 14 and 15, with severe heat waves predicted on April 16 and 17. Neighboring Gujarat is also likely to experience similar conditions from April 15 to 17. Dry and warm weather is likely to return in many areas after April 13.
On Friday, a dust storm engulfed Delhi and surrounding areas, causing damage, injuries and heavy disruption at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, with over 50 flights delayed, 25 diverted and seven cancelled. A red alert has been issued, with thunderstorms and winds gusting up to 70 km/h.
One person has died and several others have been injured in separate storm-related incidents. Light rain, drizzle and strong surface winds are expected in Delhi on Saturday, with temperatures expected to remain between 22°C and 34°C.
A yellow alert is in effect for April 12 and 13. Humidity is at 63 percent and air quality has improved from ‘poor’ to ‘moderate’, with an air quality index of 119.Sunny weather and humidity are expected to continue in Mumbai over the weekend, with the Meteorological Department predicting clear skies and no heat wave in the city.
On April 12, the temperature will range from 25°C to 33°C, with a humidity of 77 percent. Similar conditions are forecast for April 13. Mumbai’s Air Quality Index (AQI) is at 61, classified as satisfactory.
