Ration Card e-KYC: The central government has announced a compulsory e-KYC process for all ration card holders to curb the transparency and public distribution system (PDS) in ration distribution. Link Ration card with Aadhaar before March 31. The deadline for completing the e-KYC process is March 31, 2025.

Failure to complete the e-KYC procedure during this period can be suspended under PDS. As part of the e-KYC process, ration cards should be linked to Aadhaar cards, and the details of the beneficiaries are reviewed by Aadhaar-based vision.

E-KYC Procedure aims to increase the effectiveness of PDs by ensuring that only qualified individuals get food grain subsidies.

Here are the most important reasons that are crucial to complete the e-KYC process:

Continued Access to Subsidy Food Grains: Ration Cardeners who complete the process continue to receive food grains under PDS without any disruption.

Systematic distribution: The e-KYC process helps to make the beneficiaries real, accelerating the delivery process.

Prevents Card Discussion: The absence of e-KYC can lead to ration card inactivity, which restrict access to subsidies.

How to complete the ration card e-KYC online

Visit the State PDS website: Open your state’s official public distribution system (PDS) website as each state has its dedicated e-KYC platform.

Find E-KYC Section: See the “E-KYC” section for ration card or similar option on the cover under the Services or Ration Card menu.

Enter the required details: Provide your ration card number and Aadhaar number (family head or relevant member).

Check your mobile number: Use the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar account. Enter the OTP sent to your phone to complete the verification.

Submit for Verification: After successfully entered and validated the details, you will receive a visual MATION message indicating that your e-KYC is complete.

How to complete the ration card e-KYC offline:

For those who do not have access to online, the e-KYC process can be completed in offline:

Visit a local ration card office or general service center (CSC): Go to your nearest office or CSC for help.

Submit the required documents: Bring the original ration card and Aadhaar card with you.

Biometric verification: Your biometrics (fingerprint or iris scan) are checked in the office.

Get a visual Motion Slip: Once the process is completed, you will be given a visual Mation Slip as a proof of the e-KYC submission.
