Gold Prices See Sharpest Fall in September:

Gold prices have remained volatile throughout September, but the sharp decline recorded on September 28 was the largest of the month. Silver prices also moved lower alongside gold.

In India, 24-carat gold is currently priced at around Rs 15,017 per gram, while 22-carat gold is selling at Rs 13,765 per gram. The price of 18-carat gold stands at Rs 11,263 per gram. Meanwhile, gold futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) opened at around Rs 1.5 lakh per 10 grams.

Key Reasons Behind the Drop in Gold Prices:

Market analysts attribute the recent volatility to ongoing geopolitical developments and changing global economic conditions. Rising conflicts, disruptions to shipping routes, and supply chain bottlenecks have increased uncertainty in international markets.

Recent policy decisions by U.S. President Donald Trump, including the rejection of Iran’s proposal, have further influenced global commodity markets. Following these developments, crude oil prices rose by around 1%, while Brent crude futures gained nearly 2%, trading at approximately US$106.50 per barrel. The increase in oil prices has added to inflation concerns, while investors have simultaneously adjusted their positions in precious metals, contributing to the decline in gold prices.

Bengaluru Gold Rates:

Gold prices in Bengaluru remain among the lowest compared to several other Indian cities. The city’s rates are in line with those in Hyderabad, Kerala, and Pune.

The correction in both gold and silver prices signals a notable shift in the precious metals market.
