SBI Customers Get Good News Ahead of September 28–30 Bank Strike
In a post shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, SBI said customers will be able to make unlimited ATM transactions without any charges during the three-day strike.
The State Bank of India (SBI) has announced a major relief for its millions of customers ahead of the nationwide three-day bank strike scheduled from September 28 to 30. To ensure customers do not face inconvenience during the strike, SBI has waived ATM transaction charges for the entire period.
In a post shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, SBI said customers will be able to make unlimited ATM transactions without any charges during the three-day strike.
The bank also stated that customers can use ATMs of any bank across the country without incurring transaction fees during this period. Customers have been advised to refer to the bank’s official announcement for the detailed terms and conditions of the waiver.
As banking operations may be affected due to the strike, SBI has urged customers to rely on ATMs and digital banking services as much as possible. The bank has advised customers to complete any branch-related urgent work before the strike begins and to make use of Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, WhatsApp Banking, UPI, NEFT, RTGS, and IMPS for seamless transactions.
SBI also said that its branches will remain open during the three-day strike, ensuring essential banking services continue to be available. Meanwhile, bank employees’ unions have strongly opposed the Central Government’s decision to keep banks open on Sunday, September 27, ahead of the strike.
The unions have demanded that the order declaring Sunday a working day be withdrawn immediately. They have also insisted that if employees are required to work on Sunday, they should be paid double wages along with a compensatory holiday. The unions are expected to meet the Secretary of the Department of Financial Services to discuss the issue.
