India’s shooters continued their remarkable run at the Asian Games 2026, with Suruchi Inder Singh and Kamaljeet clinching the gold medal in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event. The victory marks India’s second gold medal at the ongoing Games.
The Indian duo delivered a sensational performance in the qualification round before advancing to the final. Competing against 21 teams, Suruchi and Kamaljeet finished at the top of the standings with an impressive 587 points. In the process, they set a new Asian Games qualification record and equalled the Asian record.
The pair qualified for the final after scoring 196, 195, and 196 in the three-qualification series, while also registering 29 inner-10 shots. Carrying their excellent form into the medal round, Suruchi and Kamaljeet maintained exceptional accuracy under pressure, outclassed their opponents, and comfortably secured the gold medal.
Interestingly, both shooters had fallen short of expectations in their respective individual events. However, they bounced back brilliantly in the mixed team competition, displaying outstanding coordination and composure to deliver India another historic gold medal at the Asian Games 2026.
