Sai Sudharsan has etched his name in IPL history by becoming the fastest player to reach 2000 runs, achieving the milestone in just 47 innings. The Gujarat batter surpassed the long standing record held by Chris Gayle, who had reached the mark in 48 innings.
This remarkable achievement highlights Sudharsan’s consistency and impact in the Indian Premier League. His ability to deliver across seasons has set him apart as one of the most dependable performers in recent editions of the tournament.
In terms of balls faced, Sudharsan reached the 2000 run milestone in 1361 deliveries, placing him among the fastest in that category as well. Meanwhile, Abhishek Sharma leads the list in terms of balls taken, having achieved the feat in just 1193 deliveries.
Adding to his growing list of accomplishments, Sudharsan also became the first Indian cricketer to score centuries in three consecutive IPL seasons from 2024 to 2026. Previously, only Chris Gayle had managed a similar feat, recording centuries in three straight seasons between 2011 and 2013.
With this milestone, Sudharsan has not only broken a major IPL record but also reinforced his status as a rising star in the league, setting new benchmarks for future players.
