Udupi: Fisherman Fatally Stabbed at Malpe Fishing Harbour; Accused Taken Into Custody
A 24-year-old fisherman, Abhishek, was allegedly stabbed to death during an altercation at Malpe Fishing Harbour in Udupi. The accused, a fellow worker from Chikkamagaluru, has been taken into police custody, and an investigation is underway.

Udupi: A 24-year-old fisherman was allegedly stabbed to death during an altercation at the Malpe Fishing Harbour in Udupi district in the early hours of Monday. The victim has been identified as Abhishek (24).
Abhishek and the accused were both natives of Chikkamagaluru district. They had travelled to Malpe for work and were employed as crew members on the fishing boat Sri Mahakali.
According to police, a heated argument broke out between the two over an undisclosed issue early in the morning. The confrontation quickly escalated, and the accused allegedly attacked Abhishek with a knife.
Abhishek suffered critical injuries and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. However, doctors were unable to save him, and he was declared dead.
Following the incident, personnel from the Malpe Police Station reached the scene, conducted a preliminary investigation, and took the accused into custody. A murder case has been registered, and police are investigating the circumstances and motive behind the fatal attack.
