Six Karnataka Workers Killed in Telangana Tanker Auto Crash
A tanker collided with an auto carrying workers near Satwar village in Telangana, killing six people from Karnataka and leaving six others seriously injured.
Six people from Karnataka’s Bidar district were killed after a tanker crashed into an auto rickshaw near Satwar village in Zaheerabad mandal of Telangana’s Sangareddy district.
The victims were reportedly travelling in the auto when the collision occurred. Twelve people were inside the vehicle at the time, and six of them suffered fatal injuries. The other six were seriously injured and shifted to hospital for treatment.
The victims were residents of Rajgeera village in Bidar district. According to the information released after the accident, the collision happened when the auto was taking a U turn and the tanker approached at speed.
Six victims identified
The deceased have been identified as Devidas, aged 35, Nikita, 42, Rekha, 45, Reshma, 38, Sridevi, 40, and Jagadevi, 43.
The six injured victims have been identified as Nirmala, Tulajamma, Shilpa, Shobha, Chandrakala and Radhika. They are undergoing treatment after suffering serious injuries in the crash.
The incident has left families in Rajgeera facing a sudden and painful loss, with several of those travelling in the auto being daily wage workers.
Minister visits injured victims
Karnataka Forest and Environment Minister Eshwar Khandre visited the injured victims receiving treatment at BRIMS Hospital and spoke to their families.
Three of the injured people are reportedly being treated in the surgical intensive care unit, while the remaining three are receiving treatment in another ward. Khandre also assured the families that the state government would stand by them during the difficult period.
Rs 5 lakh relief announced
Khandre said the families of the six people who died would receive Rs 5 lakh each from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
The minister described the deaths of six residents of Rajgeera as deeply painful and said assistance would also be provided to the injured victims. The condition of those undergoing treatment is being monitored by the medical teams.
The accident has once again highlighted the risks faced by workers who travel together in small vehicles on busy roads. Further details about the circumstances surrounding the collision are expected as authorities continue their investigation.
