Four Women Killed in Tiger Attack While Collecting Beedi Leaves in Maharashtra Forest

A tragic tiger attack in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district claimed the lives of four women who had entered the forest along with others to collect beedi leaves on Friday morning.

A shocking incident was reported from Maharashtra where four women lost their lives after a tiger attacked a group collecting beedi leaves inside a forest area. The incident took place in the Sindewahi taluk of Chandrapur district, creating panic among nearby villagers.

According to local reports, a group of 13 women had entered the Gunjewahi forest on Friday morning to gather tendu leaves, commonly used in making beedis. While they were busy collecting leaves, a tigress suddenly emerged from the forest and attacked the group.

The women reportedly tried to escape in fear and ran in different directions after spotting the animal. However, the tiger chased and attacked several members of the group during the chaos. Four women died in the attack, while some others sustained injuries while trying to flee from the area.

The surviving women managed to reach nearby villages and informed locals about the horrifying incident. Soon after receiving the information, villagers rushed to the forest carrying sticks and other items for protection.

When they reached the spot, they found the bodies of the four women inside the forest area. The tragic incident left the entire region in shock, with villagers expressing fear over increasing wildlife movement near human settlements and forest activity zones.

Forest officials and local authorities later reached the area and began further investigation into the incident. The attack has once again raised concerns about the safety of people who depend on forest resources for their livelihood in tiger prone regions of the state.
