Cockroach Janata Party Faces Fresh Controversy Over Followers and Threat Claims
The controversial Cockroach Janata Party is facing mounting scrutiny after follower data disputes, platform restrictions, and alleged death threats against founder Abhijeet Deepke triggered widespread debate online.

The Cockroach Janata Party has once again grabbed attention across social media platforms, but this time the discussion is not just about its growing popularity. The political page is now surrounded by multiple controversies, including questions over its followers, possible platform restrictions, and threats reportedly received by its founder Abhijeet Deepke.
According to reports, authorities are considering action against the party’s Instagram account after its X account was recently restricted. Sources claim the move is being discussed due to security concerns linked to the content and rapid online activity surrounding the platform.
At the same time, the party’s Instagram account has witnessed a massive rise in followers. More than 20 million users are reportedly following the page, pushing it ahead of major Indian political party accounts on social media. The sudden growth has triggered political debate, with critics questioning the authenticity and origin of these followers.
A youth political group associated with the BJP claimed that a large section of the followers came from Pakistan. The group also alleged that many users were from countries like the United States and Bangladesh. Because of these claims, opponents started mocking the platform by referring to it with a different political nickname online.
However, founder Abhijeet Deepke has strongly denied all allegations linked to fake international followers. He released what he described as original audience data and claimed that nearly 95 percent of the followers were from India itself. So far, social media companies including Meta and X have not officially confirmed either side’s claims regarding the account analytics.
The controversy intensified after Deepke publicly revealed that he had been receiving threatening messages. He shared screenshots on social media that allegedly showed warnings sent through WhatsApp. In those messages, unidentified people reportedly asked him to shut down the account or join a political party, while also threatening him with violence.
His parents Bhagwan and Anita Deepke have also spoken about the situation and expressed concern over their son’s safety. They said the growing political controversy has placed him under mental pressure and fear. According to them, despite the huge online following, Abhijeet has been struggling emotionally and is unable to sleep peacefully because of the threats and uncertainty surrounding the issue.
