Iran embassy in India condemns killing of supreme leader Khamenei, urges global response

New Delhi : The Embassy of Iran in New Delhi has strongly condemned the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, allegedly in a joint military operation carried out by the United States and Israel. The embassy described the killing as a “brutal assassination” and urged governments across the world to condemn the act and stand for sovereignty and international law.
In an official statement posted on its social media platform, the Iranian Embassy expressed deep sorrow over the death of Khamenei, calling him a “martyr” and a symbol of resistance and independence. “We strongly condemn the brutal assassination of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran. His passing has plunged us into deep grief,” the embassy said.
The embassy further appealed to governments worldwide to denounce the attack. “Governments that value freedom, sovereignty, and justice must condemn this clear act of aggression. Silence in the face of such unlawful acts only emboldens further violations of international law,” the statement added.
Iran’s diplomatic mission warned that the killing would have serious consequences and reiterated the country’s resolve to defend its sovereignty. The statement emphasized that Iran would continue its path with strength and determination and would not tolerate any foreign interference in its internal affairs.
Reports indicate that Iran’s Revolutionary forces have vowed retaliation, raising fears of escalating tensions across the Middle East. The development has triggered strong reactions globally, with protests and demonstrations reported in several countries.
Meanwhile, former US President Donald Trump reacted strongly on social media, warning Iran against retaliation. He stated that any aggressive response would be met with severe consequences, further intensifying geopolitical tensions.
The killing of Ayatollah Khamenei marks a significant turning point in Middle East geopolitics, potentially reshaping regional alliances and security dynamics. Analysts warn that the situation could lead to broader military confrontation, as Iran and its allies weigh their response to what they describe as an unprecedented escalation.
