Samsung has officially introduced the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, marking the debut of the company’s first Ultra branded foldable smartphone. Positioned as the most premium model in the Galaxy foldable lineup, the new device has been designed to combine flagship level performance with a large flexible display for users who want a phone that can also function as a productivity powerhouse.
Unlike previous Fold models that mainly focused on portability, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra has been developed to deliver a larger workspace for multitasking, content creation, and professional use. Samsung says the device builds on seven generations of foldable innovation while incorporating user feedback to refine both hardware and software. The latest foldable family also includes the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8, offering options for different user preferences.
One of the biggest highlights of the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is its display setup. The smartphone features a 6.5 inch cover display that can be used like a traditional smartphone, while unfolding the device reveals a spacious 8 inch main display. Both panels support a smooth 120Hz refresh rate for fluid scrolling and gaming. Samsung has also added a low reflection coating to the primary screen, which reaches a peak brightness of up to 2600 nits, making it easier to use even in bright outdoor conditions.
Samsung has also focused heavily on making the Fold8 Ultra slimmer and lighter than its predecessors. The device measures just 8.7mm when folded and around 4.1mm when unfolded, while weighing only 215 grams. It features the new Armor FlexHinge mechanism along with a Flex Titanium frame, giving the smartphone a premium feel while improving durability. According to Samsung, this is the thinnest Fold series smartphone the company has ever produced.
Photography is another major area of improvement. The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra comes equipped with a triple rear camera system led by a 200MP primary sensor. It is accompanied by a 50MP ultra wide camera and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. For selfies and video calls, Samsung has included separate 10MP cameras on both the cover display and the inner display. The camera system also includes features such as Advanced Pro Video Engine, Super Steady Video, Nightography, and My Favorite Cam to enhance photography and video recording in different conditions.
Powering the smartphone is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor, which has been optimized for flagship performance, advanced multitasking, and AI powered experiences. Combined with the large foldable display, the chipset is expected to deliver a smooth experience whether users are editing content, playing games, or working with multiple applications simultaneously.
On the software side, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra runs Android 17 with Samsung’s One UI 9 interface. The phone introduces several Galaxy AI features, including Now Nudge and Now Brief, while deeper Gemini Intelligence integration enhances AI powered assistance and productivity. Samsung Knox continues to provide multiple layers of security, helping protect user data and device privacy.
Samsung has launched the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra in multiple storage configurations for the Indian market. The 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant is priced at Rs 199999. The 12GB RAM and 512GB storage model costs Rs 219999, while the flagship version with 16GB RAM and 1TB of storage is available for Rs 259999. With its premium hardware, advanced AI capabilities, and refined foldable design, Samsung is aiming to set a new benchmark in the ultra premium smartphone segment.
