Samsung new Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 achieved record breaking demand in India with 271000 pre orders within seventy two hours.

Samsung has announced an impressive start for its latest foldable smartphone lineup in India, revealing that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Flip 8 have received an overwhelming response from customers. According to the company, the new generation foldable devices registered a record breaking 271000 pre orders within just 72 hours of bookings opening, making them the fastest selling foldable smartphones in Samsung’s history in the country.
Pre orders for the new foldable series began on July 22, and Samsung says customer interest exceeded expectations almost immediately. The company noted that it took the previous Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 lineup around 15 days to reach the same booking milestone. Achieving the figure in only three days highlights the growing popularity of foldable smartphones and the increasing confidence of buyers in premium foldable technology.
Samsung also revealed an interesting trend in customer demand. Nearly 45 percent of all pre orders came from Tier 2 cities across India. This suggests that premium foldable smartphones are no longer limited to buyers in major metropolitan areas. Consumers in smaller cities are increasingly embracing innovative mobile technology, reflecting changing purchasing patterns and stronger demand for flagship devices beyond traditional urban markets.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is designed for users seeking a premium multitasking experience. It features a large 7.6 inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X internal display that delivers vivid colors and smooth visuals. Powering the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and as much as 1TB of internal storage. The hardware is built to handle demanding applications, gaming, productivity tasks, and seamless multitasking.
For photography, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 offers a versatile camera system. The rear setup includes two 50MP sensors, while a 10MP camera is positioned beneath the inner display. Another 10MP front facing camera is available for selfies and video calls. The smartphone is equipped with a 4800mAh battery that supports 45W wired charging along with 20W wireless charging, ensuring users can quickly recharge the device when needed.
Samsung has also introduced the premium Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, aimed at users looking for flagship level specifications. The device comes with a larger 8 inch AMOLED internal display and a 6.5 inch AMOLED cover display. Both panels support an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz, providing smoother scrolling, responsive gaming, and an enhanced viewing experience.
The camera hardware on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is significantly upgraded. It includes a 200MP primary wide camera, a 50MP ultra wide sensor, and a 10MP telephoto camera. A 10MP front camera handles selfies and video calls. The phone is backed by a 5000mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging and 20W wireless charging, making it suitable for users who rely heavily on their devices throughout the day.
Alongside the Fold models, Samsung has also seen strong demand for the Galaxy Z Flip 8, further strengthening the company’s position in the premium foldable smartphone segment. The strong response across all three models indicates that consumers are increasingly interested in foldable devices that combine flagship performance with innovative form factors.
The latest booking figures suggest that Samsung’s strategy of expanding its foldable portfolio is paying off. The rapid growth in pre orders, particularly from emerging markets and smaller cities, reflects a broader shift in consumer preferences toward premium smartphones with advanced technology. As deliveries begin, Samsung will be hoping the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Flip 8 continue their strong momentum in the competitive flagship smartphone market.
