POCO X8 5G and X8 Power 5G Set to Launch With Massive Batteries
POCO is preparing to launch its X8 5G and X8 Power 5G smartphones in India, with massive batteries, AMOLED displays, fast charging and upgraded performance expected.

POCO is getting ready to expand its X series in India with two new smartphones. The POCO X8 5G and POCO X8 Power 5G are scheduled to launch on September 4, 2026, bringing the focus firmly toward battery life and everyday performance.
The X8 Power 5G is expected to be the bigger battery star of the two. Reports suggest the smartphone could pack a 10000mAh battery, which would put it among the phones designed for users who want extended usage without constantly reaching for a charger. A 100W fast charging system is also expected, although the company is yet to confirm the complete charging details.
The regular POCO X8 5G is also expected to offer a remarkably large battery. The phone is tipped to feature a 9000mAh battery, giving it a clear advantage for people who spend long hours watching videos, browsing social media or using demanding applications.
POCO has confirmed that both smartphones will arrive in India on September 4. The launch event is expected to begin around noon, while Flipkart is likely to handle online sales. More details are expected to be revealed as the launch date approaches.
According to current reports, the POCO X8 Power 5G could feature a 6.83 inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The combination should offer smoother scrolling and a sharper viewing experience, making the phone more appealing to users who consume a lot of content.
Performance could come from a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset. On the camera front, the smartphone is expected to feature a 50MP primary sensor with optical image stabilisation, supported by an 8MP ultrawide camera. A 32MP front camera is also reportedly part of the package.
The standard POCO X8 5G may follow a similar display approach. It is expected to feature a 6.83 inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. For performance, reports point toward a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor.
Camera specifications could include a 50MP main rear sensor and a 16MP front camera. However, POCO has not yet confirmed the exact camera hardware, so these details should be considered tentative until the official launch.
The X8 Power 5G could also receive stronger dust and water protection, adding another layer of durability to a phone already expected to focus heavily on battery endurance. If the reported specifications are accurate, its combination of a huge battery, fast charging and AMOLED display could make it an interesting option in the mid range segment.
The launch is particularly notable because both models appear to be taking battery capacity well beyond what is commonly seen in mainstream smartphones. While large batteries can add extra weight and size, they can also appeal to users who prioritise endurance over a slimmer design.
POCO has not yet revealed pricing for either model. The final specifications, availability and battery details will become clearer at the September 4 launch. Until then, the reported 9000mAh and 10000mAh capacities remain among the biggest talking points surrounding the upcoming X8 series.
