POCO is reportedly preparing to expand its smartphone portfolio in India with the upcoming launch of the POCO M8 Power. While the company has not officially announced the launch date, recent leaks have revealed several expected specifications, suggesting the device will focus on battery life, performance and everyday usability.

According to reports, the POCO M8 Power could arrive as a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 17 5G. If the reports prove accurate, the smartphone is likely to share most of its hardware and software features with the Redmi model while carrying POCO branding for the Indian market.

The biggest attraction of the upcoming smartphone is expected to be its massive 8000mAh battery. Such a large battery could allow users to comfortably get through up to two days of regular use on a single charge, making the device appealing for those who spend long hours watching videos, gaming, browsing social media or working on the go.

To support the large battery, the smartphone is expected to offer 45W fast charging, helping reduce charging time despite its high battery capacity. Reports also suggest the device may include 22.5W reverse charging, allowing it to function as a power source for compatible accessories or other smartphones when needed.

The POCO M8 Power is also expected to feature a large OLED display measuring close to seven inches. The panel is rumored to support 1.5K resolution along with high brightness levels, providing an improved viewing experience for entertainment, gaming and multitasking. A larger display could also make reading, streaming and productivity tasks more comfortable.

Under the hood, the smartphone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor. The chipset is likely to deliver reliable performance for daily activities including social media, web browsing, multitasking and casual gaming. The phone is also expected to run HyperOS based on the latest version of Android, offering updated software features and a modern user interface.

Photography is expected to be handled by a 50 megapixel primary rear camera. Reports suggest the camera could include artificial intelligence based image processing to improve photo quality in different lighting conditions. Details about the front camera remain unavailable, although it is expected to support selfies and video calling.

Additional features rumored for the POCO M8 Power include IP65 certification for dust and water resistance, stereo speakers for enhanced audio, an in display fingerprint scanner for secure unlocking and dual SIM support. The smartphone is also expected to support 5G connectivity and include several AI powered camera functions to enhance the overall photography experience.

POCO has not yet confirmed the official pricing of the device. However, if it is indeed based on the Redmi Note 17 5G, industry reports suggest the smartphone could be priced between Rs 15000 and Rs 20000. The final price and complete specifications will be revealed once the company makes the device official.

Although the information currently available is based on leaks and early reports, the expected combination of a large battery, Snapdragon processor, modern display and competitive pricing indicates that the POCO M8 Power could become an attractive option for buyers looking for a feature packed 5G smartphone in the midrange segment.
