Motorola Edge 70 Max Arrives in India With 7100mAh Battery and Snapdragon 8 Gen 5

Motorola has officially introduced the Edge 70 Max in India, expanding its flagship smartphone lineup with a device that combines premium hardware, artificial intelligence features and long battery life. The smartphone is aimed at users looking for high end performance along with advanced photography and productivity tools.

At the heart of the Motorola Edge 70 Max is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The smartphone ships with Android 16 based Hello UX, delivering Motorola’s latest software experience with improved performance and modern customization features.

The company has also introduced Motorola Qira with the Edge 70 Max. This new cross device artificial intelligence platform is designed to connect Motorola smartphones with Lenovo computers and tablets, allowing users to continue their work across multiple devices more seamlessly. Features such as Chat Mode, Next Move, Creator Zone, Pay Attention and Catch Me Up are intended to assist with content creation, meeting summaries, contextual suggestions and productivity.

Battery performance is another major highlight of the smartphone. The Edge 70 Max is equipped with a 7100mAh battery that supports 90W wired fast charging and 25W Qi2 magnetic wireless charging. The large battery capacity is designed to provide extended usage while minimizing charging interruptions during the day.

The smartphone features a 6.8 inch Quad HD Plus Extreme AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 by 3168 pixels. It offers a 144Hz refresh rate for smooth animations and gaming, while peak brightness reaches 7000 nits to improve visibility in bright outdoor environments. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i for added durability.

Photography is handled by a dual rear camera system led by a 50 megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization. It is accompanied by an 8 megapixel ultra wide and macro camera. Motorola has built the Edge 70 Max with durability in mind. The smartphone meets MIL STD 810H military grade durability standards and carries IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings for protection against dust and water. These certifications are intended to provide greater confidence during everyday use in different environments.

For security, the device supports an in display fingerprint scanner and face unlock. Connectivity features include dual SIM support, 5G, Wi Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, GPS and a USB Type C 2.0 port. The smartphone measures 164 millimeters in height, 77 millimeters in width, 8.29 millimeters in thickness and weighs 221 grams.

The Motorola Edge 70 Max is available in Pantone Aqua Gray, Pantone Dark Shadow and Pantone Ice Melt color options. It comes in two variants, with the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model priced at Rs 54999, while the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version costs Rs 59999.

Motorola has announced that sales will begin on July 20, 2026, through its official website, Flipkart and retail stores across India. As part of the launch offers, buyers can receive either a bank discount or an exchange bonus worth Rs 5000. The company is also providing up to 18 months of no cost EMI, bringing the effective starting prices down to Rs 49999 and Rs 54999 for eligible customers.

Customers using Jio SIM cards will also receive additional benefits with qualifying 5G recharge plans. These include access to Google Gemini Pro for 18 months, 5000GB of Jio AI Cloud Storage and a discounted Jio OTT Pass offering access to multiple premium streaming applications and live television channels.
