Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro Max is already creating buzz even before its official launch, thanks to fresh leaks that hint at a noticeable battery upgrade. The Pro Max models have always been known for better endurance compared to standard versions, but this time the improvement could be even more significant.

Interestingly, reports coming from Chinese social media platform Weibo suggest that Apple is preparing a larger battery for its top tier device in the iPhone 18 series. A tipster named Duoge Internet Technology shared an image comparing battery units of the Pro and Pro Max variants, indicating a clear jump in capacity for the Pro Max model.

According to the leak, the European variant of the iPhone 18 Pro Max may come equipped with a 5235 mAh battery. This is reportedly about 8.5 percent larger than the battery found in the iPhone 17 Pro Max. In real terms, that means an increase of roughly 412 mAh, which could translate into longer screen time and improved daily usage performance.

For the US market, the situation appears slightly different. The device is expected to skip a physical SIM slot entirely and rely only on dual eSIM support. This version is said to carry an even larger battery around 5425 mAh, marking another small but meaningful upgrade over the previous generation.

At the same time, Apple’s strategy seems focused not just on battery size but also on efficiency. The upcoming iPhone lineup is expected to feature the new A20 Pro chip, which is believed to be more energy efficient than before. This could help the device deliver longer battery life even without massive jumps in capacity.

While Apple’s improvements sound promising, the numbers still appear modest when compared to some Android competitors. Brands like Oppo and Realme are already experimenting with ultra large batteries reaching up to 10000 mAh in certain models, pushing the boundaries of smartphone endurance.

Even so, Apple continues to rely on tight hardware and software integration to maximize performance. The real test will be how the iPhone 18 Pro Max balances its upgraded battery, new processor, and overall efficiency once it officially hits the market.
