Airtel Adds Free iCloud Plus Benefits to Family Postpaid Plans

Airtel has announced additional benefits for customers using its family postpaid plans in India. The telecom operator is bringing Apple services into selected plans, giving eligible users access to cloud storage and entertainment features without paying a separate subscription fee.

The new benefits apply to family postpaid plans priced at Rs 999 and above. Customers on these plans can now get Apple iCloud Plus, Apple TV and Apple Arcade as part of their existing Airtel package.

The move gives Airtel customers several digital services under one monthly bill. Instead of subscribing separately to cloud storage, video entertainment and gaming services, eligible users can access the bundled benefits through their Airtel plan.

Airtel currently has four family postpaid plans covered by the updated offering. The Rs 999 plan is the entry point, while higher priced options are available for families that need additional connections and entertainment benefits.

The Rs 999 family postpaid plan includes unlimited calling and 100 SMS messages each day. Airtel also provides unlimited data through its Fastlane technology with this plan.

Customers subscribing to the Rs 999 option also receive access to several other services. These include Amazon Prime, Google One, JioHotstar and Adobe Express Premium. The plan supports up to three SIM connections under the same family account.

The higher priced Rs 1,199 and Rs 1,399 plans allow customers to add up to four SIM connections. These plans also include Netflix access, adding another entertainment service to the benefits already available with the family package.

At the top of the range is Airtels Rs 1,749 family postpaid plan. It supports up to five SIM connections under a single plan, making it an option for larger families that want multiple numbers managed through one account.

The addition of Apple services gives these plans another layer of digital benefits. iCloud Plus provides cloud storage for compatible Apple devices and can be used for storing photos, files, backups and other personal information.

Apple TV adds access to Apples streaming platform, while Apple Arcade provides a catalogue of games. The combination means users can access storage, video entertainment and gaming through the same Airtel family plan.

Airtel said the updated offering is intended to provide more value to family postpaid customers by combining connectivity with digital services. Amit Tripathi, Director of Market Operations at Airtel, said the company wants to improve the overall customer experience by adding the Apple services to its family plans.

Both existing and new customers can upgrade to eligible plans through the Airtel app or by visiting an Airtel store. Customers considering an upgrade can compare the number of connections, data benefits and entertainment services included with each plan before making a choice.

The Apple services also come at a time when the company has been expanding the benefits attached to its subscription products in selected markets. In India, iCloud Plus subscriptions are separately available, with the basic plan starting at Rs 75 per month for 50GB of cloud storage.

For Airtel customers, the main difference is that iCloud Plus is being included within qualifying family postpaid plans rather than requiring a separate payment. Apple TV and Apple Arcade are also part of the new bundled benefits.

The offer could be particularly useful for households where several family members use Apple devices and already need additional cloud storage. Having the service included with the telecom plan may also make it easier to manage recurring subscriptions from different services.

However, the Apple benefits are linked to eligible Airtel family postpaid plans, so customers on other plans should check their account before expecting access. The exact benefits can also vary depending on the selected Airtel plan.

With iCloud Plus, Apple TV and Apple Arcade joining the existing benefits, Airtel is expanding its family postpaid proposition beyond calls and data. The updated plans now combine connectivity, cloud storage, entertainment and gaming within a single package.
