Tumakuru Man Dies After Attack Linked to Former Husband Dispute

A 26 year old man has died in Tumakuru after being attacked during a reported dispute involving a woman and her former husband. Police have arrested the woman’s former husband in connection with the incident, and further investigation is underway.

The deceased has been identified as Dastagir, 26. He had been living with a 36 year old woman at Janata Colony in Tumakuru city. According to the police, the woman had previously been married to the accused, identified as Ghouse, 45.

The case reportedly dates back to an earlier association between Dastagir and Ghouse. Police said Dastagir had worked with Ghouse around two years ago and became acquainted with his wife during that period.

According to the information available to police, the woman had allegedly told Dastagir about difficulties in her marriage. Their relationship later developed further, and the two eventually decided to live together.

Around one and a half years ago, Dastagir and the woman reportedly left their earlier residence and began living separately. The two were also said to have planned to marry after receiving the approval of their families.

The woman subsequently obtained a divorce from Ghouse and continued living separately with Dastagir. However, police said tensions involving her former husband allegedly continued even after the separation.

The latest incident took place on September 16 at the house where the woman and Dastagir were staying in Janata Colony. According to the police account, Ghouse arrived at the residence and a confrontation followed.

Police alleged that Ghouse attempted to attack the woman and that Dastagir intervened. During the incident, Dastagir sustained serious injuries and Ghouse allegedly left the location.

Dastagir was taken to Tumakuru District Hospital for treatment. A case was registered at the Tumakuru City Police Station following the incident, and police began investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack.

Investigators later arrested Ghouse in connection with the case. The police are examining the events that led to the confrontation, including the previous relationship between the woman and the accused and the circumstances surrounding the dispute.

Dastagir remained under medical care after being admitted to the hospital. However, he later died while receiving treatment, turning the case into a death investigation.
