Terrorists eyes on Mysuru Dussehra, high alert announced

The intelligence department has informed the central home department that 70 terrorists of Pakistan and ISIS may have infiltrated with fake passports to carry out bloodbaths during the world-famous Dussehra in Mysuru and Kali festival in West Bengal and Navratri festival in Gujarat.

The main attraction of the world-famous Mysuru Dussehra festival, Jambu Saviri, has been under the shadow of terrorists, and the Central Intelligence Agency has instructed immediate security measures in sensitive and ultra-sensitive areas.

70 militants from Pakistan and ISIS have entered India with fake passports and have warned that during Navratri, the terrorists are eyeing the cities of Mysuru in Karnataka, Kolkata in West Bengal and Ahmedabad in Gujarat.

In this background, it is learned that the Chief of Central Intelligence has held a telephone conversation with the Secretary of the Home Department of Karnataka, the Chief of the Intelligence Department and the Director General of Police and has given instructions to increase security in Mysuru and Mangaluru.

In this background, Home Minister Dr G Parameshwar has talked to the senior officers of the department over phone and warned that tight security should be taken everywhere in Mysuru and Mangaluru till the last day of Dussehra festival and high alert should be declared in sensitive and ultra sensitive areas.

It is learned that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has instructed State Director General of Police Alok Mohan to increase security to prevent any untoward incident from happening in the background of lakhs of people coming from home and abroad to observe Dussehra.

In the background of CM’s instruction, tight security has been increased in Mysuru, KSR Dam, everywhere. The police keep an eagle eye on foreign tourists arriving in the city. Security has been increased at lodges, home stays, hotels, IB and other places in Mysore since last night and the movements of suspicious persons are being closely monitored.

Identity card and Aadhaar card of those coming to the city are being checked at bus station, railway station and other places. Also, the information of those who have already stayed in lodge home stay and other places has been blacked out.

Three and a half thousand policemen, KSRP, RAF and intelligence department have been instructed to remain on duty till the end of Dussehra festival for security in the background of the fact that terrorists may ambush and attack in the form of locals.

Security has been increased not only in Mysuru but also in Srirangapatna, Madikeri and KRS Dam. According to sources, a team of Rapid Task Force has arrived in Mysuru from the Centre.

As Mysuru is on the hit list of terrorists, a skilled team has been sent on the instructions of the Central Home Department to prevent a possible attack. Along with Dussehra, the ICC World Cup match is currently being held in the country, so they have arrived in India from abroad to watch the match.

The possibility of some terrorists getting fake passports and sneaking into India under the guise of spectators cannot be ruled out. That’s why the Central Intelligence Agency has instructed the Karnataka government to take strict action to prevent any kind of deviation from Mysuru Dussehra.
