Before the addition of LSG and GT between 2018 and 2021, the fourth team in the playoffs had 14 points to their name and in 2019 Sunrisers Hyderabad finished in the top 4 despite only having 12 points. However, from 2022 onwards, a team usually needs 16 points to qualify for the playoff stages.

Basically, RCB is unlikely to enter the playoffs even if they get 14 points by winning all their remaining matches. However, there is still a small statistical chance for RCB to sneak in, but they will have to win all their remaining matches first.
