In background of implemented learning management systems (LMS) in Higher Education Institutions, he instructed to take action to distribute computers and laptops to the students as soon as possible.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the students of the state have got great news and will soon distribute free ‘lap tops’. CM Siddaramaiah spoke after the higher education department progress review meeting held at Home Office Krishna on Saturday October 21.

In background of implemented learning management systems (LMS) in Higher Education Institutions, he instructed to take action to distribute computers and laptops to the students as soon as possible. In the discussed meeting chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inform to give stipend for Ph.D. students.

Similarly, Mysuru Maharani Arts College hostel premises cost Rs 99 crore. He directed the authorities to take immediate action for the construction of a hostel to accommodate a thousand female students each of the Arts and Science College at an estimated cost.

In the higher education department, he instructed to fill up the posts of welfare Karnataka and backlog and then to identify the priorities and take steps to fill up the vacant posts step by step. 47 crores already with the department. He directed the finance department officials to provide additional grants in the next year’s budget if available.

Yes, there has been no recruitment in transport organizations for the last 8 years after the recruitment in 2016. In this regard, there were 13669 vacancies in 4 transport organizations from 2016 to date due to retirement of staff and other reasons.

In this regard, the government was requested to give permission to the transport companies for the recruitment of 13000 driving and technical staff. Accordingly, in the first phase, 6500 driving staff and 300 technical staff have been approved by the government. The organization wise recruitment details are as follows.

KSRTC: Driver Cum Conductor : 2000

Technical Staff : 300

NWKRTC : Driver Cum Conductor 2000

BMTC : Conductor 2500

KKRTC has already started the recruitment process of 1619 driving staff, driving test is going on and the final selection list will be released at the end of January 2024. Recruitment of 300 conductors in kKRTC has been approved and the notification is in the process of being issued. The recruitment of 8719 driving and technical staff vacancies in the overall transport corporations has started.
