Indian Railways is running special trains to Kundapur and Mangalore on April 25 for the convenience of people going to the polls.

Voting will be held in the coastal part of the state on that day and special trains are being run from Bangalore for the people going to vote. Thousands of people travel from the capital city of Bengaluru to the coastal area to cast their votes. Train schedule:

Bangalore-Mangalore train will run on April 25. The train will depart from Bangalore Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal at 18:00 hrs and reach Mangalore Central Station at 10 hrs on 26th April. The train departing from Sir. M. Visvesvaraya Terminal will reach Mangalore Central Station via KR Pura, Bangarapet, Salem, Erode Junction, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Palakkad, Tirur, Koikkod, Thalassery, Kannur, Kasaragod.

Bengaluru-Kundapura train: The Yeswanthpur-Kundapura train service will start on April 25 from Yesvantpura station in Bangalore city. The train will leave Yeshavantpur at 23:20 and reach Kundapur on April 26 at 10:45. The train departing from Yeswanthpur will reach Kundapur via Nelamangala, Kunigal, Hassan, Sakaleshpur, Subramanya Road, Kabaka Puttur, Bantwala, Suratkal, Mulki, Udupi, Barkur.

There is a demand for more trains between the capital Bangalore and the coast. During the festive season, the Bangalore-Mangalore train is fully booked during the holiday season. Now on polling day more people travel from Bengaluru city to coastal area. The seats in the buses are already full. Additional buses and trains are needed for people to go to vote.
